Frequently asked questions
3D product visualisation questions, answered.
Direct answers on UK pricing, CAD files, modelling, outputs, usage rights, delivery and how the Render Roll service works.
In short
What applies to every UK Render Roll order?
These answers apply to UK orders placed with XO3D Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales that trades with business customers only. Prices appear in GBP and exclude VAT. The confirmed scope records the billing currency, the tax treatment and the terms version before any payment link is created. Turnaround figures are indicative rather than guaranteed until your scope is confirmed, and no same-day delivery is offered. Revisions are structured by batch instead of image by image, so a round is reviewed together. Files sent at quote stage travel over an encrypted connection, are stored outside the public website and are deleted after 30 days unless a production transfer is agreed. An NDA is available on request. You keep the rights in the products and files you supply, and finished work is shown publicly only with your permission.
Pricing and service
Prices are indicative and depend on catalogue size, images per SKU and whether you provide render-ready CAD or 3D files. Starter begins at £90 per SKU, Growth at £150 per SKU, and Bulk at £110 per SKU. We validate representative files and confirm the exact scope before payment. Separate modelling starts at £150 per model. The 3D product rendering cost guide shows worked catalogue examples and what each package includes.
Yes. The UK route shows indicative prices in pounds sterling and uses British English. The main Render Roll route supports international customers and shows indicative prices in US dollars. The service is operated by UK-based XO3D Ltd. We confirm scope, applicable taxes and payment details before you pay.
Definitions
A SKU is a single product that needs its own model, file preparation and image setup. One SKU is one product, set up once and rendered to the standard.
A variant is a colour, material, finish, label or graphic change that reuses the approved geometry, dimensions and component layout. Size, component, accessory or shape changes need file review and may count as a new base SKU.
Usually, yes. A variant reuses an approved base, so it takes less work than a brand new SKU. It is never free, and a large change can be closer to a new product. The builder shows the split between base SKUs and variants.
Files and process
CAD such as STEP, IGES, SolidWorks and Rhino, and 3D such as OBJ, FBX, STL, 3ds Max and Blender. You can also send drawings, dimensions, reference photos, label artwork and material specifications. The file requirements page lists the full set.
We validate geometry and scale, prepare materials and finishes, then agree a master camera, lighting, crop and background standard. One product is rendered for approval before that setup is applied across the catalogue. Every batch is quality checked before marketplace-ready images are delivered.
Yes, as a separate service. Simple modelling is £150 per model, standard is £300, and complex modelling starts at £600. We review your references and confirm the modelling scope before any rendering starts. Modelling is never included in the rendering package price.
No. Every rendering order needs an approved CAD or 3D model for each base product. Drawings and photographs can start a separate modelling enquiry, but a rendering payment link is only issued after the representative model has passed validation.
We can use photographs as reference, but a photograph is not a 3D file. Products without a usable model are modelled first and quoted separately.
Often, yes. Send an example of the look you need and we will confirm what is achievable when we validate your files.
Outputs
Yes. Transparent backgrounds are part of the standard output set, alongside white-background images.
Yes. We produce white-background, detail and transparent images sized for the main marketplaces, including the main-image rules Amazon expects.
Yes, on request. Tell us at intake if you need layered files and we will include them in your delivery.
One structured round on Starter, two rounds on Growth, two per batch on Bulk, and per agreement on Ongoing. Revisions are structured by batch, not open-ended, so each round is reviewed together rather than one image at a time.
Delivery
Yes. Larger orders are delivered in phased batches, and each batch is quality checked before it reaches you.
Indicatively 3 to 5 days for Starter, 5 to 8 days for Growth, and phased over 2 to 3 weeks for Bulk. We confirm the exact window against your scope once we have seen your files. We do not promise same-day delivery.
We stop the rendering order before payment and explain what is needed. Any preparation or modelling is quoted as a separate line item. You are never charged to render a file we cannot use.
Extras
Simple 360 rotations, yes, as one of the standard output options. Full animation is handled as a custom quote by our specialist team, so it can be scoped properly. Request a custom quote.
Trust and rights
On full payment, you may use the delivered images across your own sales and marketing channels without a per-use limit. You keep your rights in your products and supplied files, while granting XO3D Ltd only the licence needed to quote and deliver the work. Unless agreed otherwise, we may retain underlying 3D models for future work. Finished work is shown publicly only with permission.
Files are transferred over an encrypted connection, access is limited to the people working on your order, and the files are used only to quote and produce your images. An NDA is available on request, and retention can be agreed for the project.
